we have waited a bit long to wish you all a great 2009. but because we did we can inform you now we have been invited to join our friends from SLUT (Germany) on their upcoming dates in Austria. We have great memories about last time we joined the stage in Germany so we are happy and looking forward to these dates! THE STATE-X WE WERE IN..
our symfonic weekend was great. this is what the dutch 3voor12 thought about it: "Lawn laat zich speciaal voor dit festival vergezellen door het Fries Symfonie orkest. De combinatie van twee totaal verschillende werelden roept een zeer ingetogen doch intieme sfeer op. Hier wordt indie met klassiek vermengd. Een mooie vondst. Het publiek, nu in aanzienlijk grotere getale aanwezig dan bij de opening van gister, geniet in stilte van weergaloze act op het podium." In plain english: we did okay.

 YES WE CAN..
forgive us our little irony, but we strongly believe voting & art (read: music) shouldn't be brought together. 100.000 myspace-friends can't be wrong? yes, they can. but in this case it's not our music on the line, it's our concept Safe Haven that has been nominated for some award. and since this concept was created to bring down barriers between us, visitors to our shows and potential cd-buyers, we feel we should inform you about it! you can vote (hurry!) by sms LC band 5 to number 2255, and you will make us happy. we won't win, but we'll be happy ;-) and please stop by in the hague at 20:30 sharp for lawn-symfonies.

 THERE IS A LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL..
oh, the silence on this site.. incredible. but we're still alive, i'm breathing as we speak. if you read our blog you'd known earlier on. in december we'll appear on two stages, and weare very happy to announce we'll be sharing the stage (again) with the Friesland Symphonic Orchestra! on the 12th: Drachten, on the 13th: Den Haag (State-X festival). we hope to see you there!

4 GIGS IN A ROW..
 THANX SO MUCH..
oh the fun we had.. all 4 shows were special in their own way.. the setting of the appingedam-gig, the impressive stage + orchestra the next day in leeuwarden, but the festival in zutphen was very very rewarding too. funny detail: all these were situated right underneath a churchtower! oh, and gideon was all about relaxing.. what a great place to hang around.. thanx to all festivals, the orchestra and the people that came to watch us.. here are some pictures, the final chapter of our blog you'll find here soon! more news later on!

 SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT..
we're cruising on, and we've reached again a very very busy week. we drag ourselves from practise-room to church, from rockcafé to sea-containers and it's weird to see/play the SILVER-songs in so many different shapes: past & upcoming days you can see us play semi-acousticly (noorderzon), loud-rockin' (gideon & 's gravenhoff) and also with a huge symphonic orchestra on stage (blend) playing familiar songs with fresh written arrangements.. exact locations & times: see our tour-page. more important: read our blog HERE for fresh (daily) news about these shows!! at all upcoming performances we sell our cd's cheaply, we hope to see you all there!

 BACK ON TRACK..
hope you all enjoyed your holidays, however: normal hectic life takes over again. at least on this side. we started the new season by playing on the cozy Plein Open festival, review here.. now we're preparing for the festivals at the end of this month, incuding a performance with a real symphonic orchestra. more about that in our blog(s). after the summer we hope to focus more on shows outside holland as well..

 HOLIDAYS ARE COMING..
so that's it for this season.. the last safe-haven-show went great as well, the livingroomshows were beyond expectations and we thank everyone involved. you can read about this hectic week soon on musicfrom.nl: we'll be writing a journal for them as we speak. after our well deserved break we'll be doing some nice festivals, one will include a symphonic orchestra! check the dates on our live-page. after the summer we'll be playing more shows in Netherlands and Germany. enjoy the sun and see you soon!

more reviews: platomania! we'll be travelling around this monthe to bring you lawnmusic on your doorstep. we'll be in the north (leeuwarden), the east (deventer), the south (den bosch) and the west (dordrecht) so we hope you'll be there! after our visit to 3voor12 in utrecht, we'll return there next month for our 3rd safe haven-show in ekko. first up however: befrijdingsfestival leeuwarden, which will be recorded and broadcasted on radio AND tv! after that we'll be supporting Tim VanHamel (Millionaire/dEUS) in Deventer. our silver record had only been 'in the open' for one week and the reviews are rolling in. volkskrant, oor, leeuwarder courant etc., and they're all great! on 3voor12 you can read another interview.. and on top of that our record can be heard on 'de luisterpaal', streaming, just like myspace.nl last week! oh, in the meantime we've achieved our second safe haven! *sweet*!

 VIDEO ABOUT THE DAYLIGHT WE'VE MISSED
i can clearly recall the painful brightness, the terrorizing blaze of common sunbeams sending our eyesight to oblivion for just a few moments.. that's what you get when you're inside a dark studioroom, day-to-day. the time in this 'void'.. -yes the studio has it's name chosen correctly- has been put on film for all to enjoy. crank up the brightness and the volume and go boldly HERE!

vincing argument. well, laurens didn't run away. he couldn't. so. he plays keyboards and is the fifth LAWN-boy, at least for the upcoming episode. this is why we asked his other band Jean Parlette to open for us the 6th of march in vera!
